from the founder
I’m a filmmaker, director and founder of Directed by Good.
For more than a decade, I’ve built a career directing and producing high-end factual television for the UK’s major broadcasters, from flagship series and documentaries to major live events. My credits include The Repair Shop, Countryfile, the BBC Proms, Glastonbury and the Royal British Legion’s Festival of Remembrance. From craft and heritage to music, arts and the British landscape, much of that work has explored the people, places and traditions that shape our culture.
Long before a career in television, I was fortunate to live an incredibly diverse life that helped shape the way I see the world and work with others.
Music has been a lifelong passion of mine. Performing alongside the Hallé Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Brass Band of Switzerland at a young age, gave me a deep appreciation for creativity and the power of people working in harmony.
Beyond music, military service as an officer in the Swiss Air Force taught me the importance of discipline, responsibility and calm decision-making under pressure.
For all their their differences, these experiences shaped both the filmmaker I am and the company I wanted to build. They taught me that behind every organisation, tradition and story are the people who make them possible; and that how we make our work matters just as much as the work itself.
Directed by Good brings those ideas together: thoughtful, human-centred filmmaking, exceptional production values and a belief in doing things properly. We create exceptional work for our clients while making a positive impact beyond the films themselves.
